NAVAL AIR STATION LEMOORE –
Six Sailors assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Lemoore were frocked and promoted to the next higher rank during a ceremony at Naval Health Clinic Lemoore as friends, family and co-workers watched.
“Congratulations to our newly pinned Hospital Corpsmen 3rd class and 2nd class petty officers,” said Capt. Romeo Tizon, Jr., commanding officer of NMRTC Lemoore in his remarks. “This is a big deal and a big day. It is a testament to all your hard work and efforts. You never gave up and you kept on charging the field.”
Capt. Tizon suggested to the newly advanced petty officers that they ‘pay it forward’ and to help the other sailors in the command succeed, just as these newly frocked sailors achieved their new ranks.
“This is my challenge to you, now that you are newly minted 2nd and 3rd Class Petty Officers,” Tizon said. “I want you to go out there and inspire your shipmates to get them to where you are now. I want you to pay it forward: mentor them, teach them and inspire them.”
NMRTCL’s Command Master Chief Hospital Corpsman Christina Wood also recommended to the newly frocked Sailors that they share their studying routines with others in the command.
"With this promotion adds increased responsibility," Wood said.
