Vision
The Optometry department provides comprehensive vision services to active duty military. Our doctors examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and disorders of the visual system, the eye and related structures, as well as identify related systemic conditions affecting the eye. After hours urgencies should call the toll free Nurse Advice Line: 1-800-TRICARE, (1-800-874-2273) option 1. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
At this time our care is limited to Active Duty patients only.
Services:
Active Duty:
Comprehensive eye exams and physicals, spectacle ordering and repair, Aviation Contact Lens Program (Designated Aircrew in flight status only), refraction surgery (PRK/LASIK) evaluations and post-operative care, and LASER Surveillance Program eye exams.
If patients lose or break their glasses, but have a current eye examination in their health record (< 2yrs old), they may walk in without appointment to the main-side hospital clinic to reorder glasses or obtain a copy of their spectacle prescription to be filled elsewhere. Active duty members are entitled to one frame of choice per year AND also standard issue frames.

Please arrive 15 MINUTES early to your appointment. Patients will be in the uniform of the day.

Your eyes may be dilated at your examination depending on your medical eye history and we encourage patients to bring sunglasses as light sensitivity may occur after dilation.
Retirees:
Patients with a current eye examination may bring their spectacle prescription to the Optometry clinic during normal business hours to have spectacle ordered. Retirees are authorized one pair of standard issue frame per year. Adjustments and repairs are offered as a walk in service during normal business hours.
