A Note from TRICARE:
In the past TRICARE West beneficiaries have had the option of receiving all processed claim and authorization notifications via postal mail. That option is no longer viable. Instead, beneficiaries must be registered at
www.tricare-west.com to view authorizations, referrals, and individual Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements. HNFS posts these documents electronically to the beneficiary’s Secure Inbox where they can be viewed and/or printed online. Managing how you’d like to receive TRICARE communications takes just a few minutes once you’ve logged in. The easiest way to log in is to use your Department of Defense Self-Service Logon (DS Logon). If you don’t have a DS Logon, we offer a website registration option. Once you’ve logged in, simply click on Manage references in the My Account box.
You’ll be taken to a screen that shows you the various notification methods available for each category. Boxes to the right of the categories indicate available delivery options. Check the box or boxes indicating your preferred notification method. If there is no box under a specific delivery option, that option is not available. Make sure you add your email address in the required field, and your cell phone number if requesting text messages. Text and email alerts are highly recommended due to the time-sensitive nature of authorizations and referrals, and save you the trouble of calling or checking your postal mail.
